CONCUSSION IN YOUTH SPORTS
The State of Michigan recently passed a law regarding concussions in youth sports. Public Acts 342 and 343 requires that concussion information be made available to parents and youth athletes. In order to be compliant with the new law, please complete and return the Parent/Youth Athlete Concussion Information Sheet (one per child) available here, as soon as possible. The signed form must be returned to the Marshall Recreation Department prior to participation in Deparment youth sports and other specific programs.
Seasonal Employment Available. The Recreation Department is looking for individuals to fill the following positions:
- Adult Softball Umpires and Scorers
- Athletic Field Maintenance
- Playground Supervisor
- Playground Cadet Counselor Supervisor
- USTA Tennis Instructor and Assistant Instructor
- Lil' Mytes Tennis Assistant
- Lil' Sluggers T-Ball Assistant
- Jr Baseball and Softball Umpires

Marshall Recreation Department Brings Mackinac Island’s Grand Experience to Area Residents in 2014. This fall the Marshall Recreation Department is offering area residents a unique opportunity to travel to Mackinac Island in Grand style! Marshall Recreation’s “Grand Experience” trip provides exciting programming and events, accommodations at the luxurious Grand Hotel, five-course meals, a carriage tour, discounts at Mackinac shops and more! The Grand Experience is a travel program for individuals ages 50 and above, it is presented in partnership between the Marshall Recreation Department, Michigan Park and Recreation Association, the Grand Hotel, and local agencies across the state. It is an opportunity for travelers to enjoy the best of Mackinac Island at a greatly reduced, all-inclusive rate. The 2014 Marshall Recreation Grand Experience will take place September 22-25.
