Parks, Recreation & Cemetery Advisory Board: The Board meets at 5:30 pm the 4th Tuesday of the month, Sep-

May. Board members; Chair Dave Fhaner; Lee Sherman; Randy Eshuis; Bing Robinson; Mark Gilbert, Lisa Sands and

Kathy Miller, Council Liaison. There is currently a member vacancy, if you are interested in serving contact the

Department office at 269/781-5166.

Registration Deadlines/Late Fees: To register for programs, the registration fee must be received by 5 pm on the

Registration Deadline date. Payments received after the deadline will be subject to a $5 late fee and does not guarantee

participation in the program.

On-Line Registration: Call or stop in at the office; a staff member will establish an account for you. Once you have

an account, a password will be sent via e-mail to enable you to register for programs on-line. To access on-line

registration or view program and other information go to http://recpro.cityofmarshall.com.

Resident & Non-Resident Fees: You are a resident if you are a City of Marshall taxpayer or reside or own property

within the City boundaries. Non-residents are welcome to participate, but will be charged a higher registration fee.

Residency Verification: In order to take advantage of the resident discounted program fees, proof of residency may

be required (MI drivers license or ID). A photo of proof of residency should be included with the registration form for

mail-ins and faxes.

Refunds: Refunds, less a $3 cancellation fee and any pre-paid expenses, may be granted prior to the start date of a

program. No refunds will be granted the day of or after the start of a program. A full refund will be processed for any

program cancelled by the Dept.

Scholarships: In an effort to encourage and enable all youth to participate in Recreation Dept programs, scholarships

are offered. Program criteria: youth under the age of 18 qualifying for the free/reduced school lunch program, meet the

income guidelines and reside within the Marshall School District. (Complete information and guidelines are available

at the Dept Office.) A Scholarship Form must be completed for each participant. The City of Marshall participant pays

$15; all others pay $20 of the program fee; the balance is paid with Scholarship funds. A $50 maximum per quarter per

participant may be awarded. Donations for this program are always greatly appreciated.

Participant Concerns: Participants are encouraged to share concerns directly with the Recreation Dept

Superintendent and Staff regarding operation of programs or facilities.

Criminal Background Check Policy: The City’s Human Resources Dept will perform a criminal background check

on all part-time staff and volunteers either semi-annually or as volunteers take on their specific roles. The focus of the

check will be around criminal convictions involving minor children and/or other vulnerable populations. 16 years and

older will be subject to a criminal background check.
